Our time here is winding down... I can't believe how fast everything has been moving... October has been pretty full of events, but we are enjoying every minute of it and asking God for strength to finish this year strong! Please check out our other teammate's blog for pictures from some of the events this month (www.kaceyinparaguay.blogspot.com)
I stumbled upon a group called The Sing Team earlier this year and have been listening to them non-stop. They are from Mars Hill Church and have a unique sound that I didn't expect from a praise band. But I love it!
Listen to their other songs HERE.
It has been getting HOTTER. I was starting to feel spoiled by the pleasant weather... It hit almost 100 degrees today with a lot of humidity... Finally, this is the Paraguay I have heard so much about... The rise in heat and humidity also means a rise in mosquitoes. We have heard that Dengue is coming back this season! Please pray for physical protection.
Thank you so much for your constant support and love!

Iguazú Falls
Joe here. Last week, Kacey, Yoe Jin and I were able to join my 6th graders for their annual field trip. This year, the trip was to Iguazú Falls, considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Iguazú Falls is located on the border of Argentina and Brazil and consists of approximately 257 individual waterfalls. Going on this trip not only afforded me an opportunity to do some sightseeing outside of Paraguay and spend time with my students outside of the classroom setting, but it reminded me of how truly glorious my Creator God is.
Here is a clip of what it was like up close to one of the falls:
“You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you." -Nehemiah 9:6
Our awesome bus! It was a double-decker! |
Oleg, my bus buddy. Here he's holding up his breakfast, chocolate milk and wafer cookies. Oh to be young again! |

IGUAZU FALLS!!! |
Excited kids at the entrance to the park. From the entrance we had to take another bus to the actual falls. |
Getting a picture in with some of my 6th graders as we waited for the opening of the park. |
All the 6th graders that went. |
Kacey and Yoe Jin enjoying the bus ride to the falls. |

You can also notice the rainbow that appeared |
This almost looks photoshopped. It was just that awesome. |

We had to wear some ponchos as we were about to get really wet! |
Up close to a waterfall. The sheer power of the flowing water was awe-inspiring. |
It was a great time bonding with some of my students. |
